Job Description

POSITION: Litigation Secretary

LOCATION: Pretoria East

TYPE: Permanent

SALARY: R14 000 – R17 000 CTC p/m (depending on experience)

STARTING DATE: Immediately

 

Our client a reputable law firm in Pretoria East requires a Litigation Secretary with at least 4 years’ experience, who can work in a highly pressurized environment.

 

This role is VERY URGENT and a candidate who is AVAILABLE IMMEDIATELY would be preferred. This position is best suited to those who live in or around the Pretoria East regions.

 

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Matric
  • FNB business lending
  • 4+ years’ Litigation experience – must be in High and Magistrate Court Litigation
  • Drafting of S129 letters, Summons, Applications for Default Judgment, Attending to Court Queries (High Court & Magistrate Court)
  • Liaising with Sheriffs, Correspondents & Clients
  • Diary Management
  • Related qualification/certification would be an advantage
  • Excellent communication (verbal & written)
  • Excellent telephone etiquette
  • Ghost Practice Experience & Invoicing will be a bonus
  • A willingness to learn
  • Outstanding typing skills
  • General PA responsibilities
  • Ability to work in a highly pressurized environment and thrive
  • Knowledge of the different pleadings and templates would be advantageous
  • Candidate should be residing in Pretoria East

 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Full function legal secretarial duties
  • Dictaphone Typing
  • Client liaison
  • Diary management and diarizing of files
  • Filing and file management
  • Sorting, indexing and filing materials using a variety of filing methods
  • Attending to new instructions
  • Drafting of S129 letters, Summons, etc.
  • Applications for Default Judgment,
  • Attending to Court Queries (High Court & Magistrate Court);
  • Liaising with Sheriffs, Correspondents & Clients
